No Methanol! No Pipelines! Comment workshop

  • Washington Hall 153 14th Avenue Seattle, WA, 98122 United States (map)

* Event is free, but please RSVP here: https://sierra.secure.force.com/events/details?formcampaignid=7010Z000001P66TQAS *

Come together with us to stop the world's largest fracked gas to methanol refinery proposed in Southwest Washington! This refinery would produce more than 6 million tons of greenhouse gases, equivalent to 1.3 million cars. The refinery’s enormous demand for fracked gas would likely create the rationale to build more gas pipeline capacity up and down the I-5 corridor, threatening our communities with more fracked gas projects.

Government agencies are currently accepting public comments regarding the full environmental impact of this refinery. In order to make the most of this comment period, we will need to submit a large amount of personalized comments. That's why we are holding a comment writing workshop, right here in Seattle.

On February 10th at noon, we will gather for music, lunch and comment writing! We will help you write effective comments, and send them out for you, so you save on postage!

Please note: this event is also child-friendly (with activities to entertain while you participate in the day's events). Food options will include vegan and gluten-free options.

** We are also looking for volunteers! If you are interested in helping out, sign up for a shift (or multiple!) here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18zJoalZAq_8hLboenPjqkeOuO8-TNacAcG2Om-1z6I4/edit?usp=sharing **
